I have always been a doctor at heart, Mr. Riley. As a child I didn't give my dolls diapers and bottles — I stitched their wounds and mummified them with bandages. I hated to see any living thing suffer. I still do.
I have been working in the field since these Troubles started. It didn't take us long to realize that this was no ordinary infection. There isn't any single vector that I can see, other than a correlation to the patient's emotional state. Sometimes it behaves like a blood–borne pathogen — sometimes even glancing physical contact or proximity is enough. Sometimes it seems to appear spontaneously, with no contact. It doesn't respond to any known regimen of antibiotics and I haven't been able to find any micro–organism in the tissues I have tested. I have seen the symptoms recede once or twice, even apparently vanish — but I've never been able to say why one person could fight it off, while another succumbed within hours.
In short, Mr. Riley — I agree with you. This is not a "disease" in any conventional sense of the word. But I am still a doctor, and I believe that people still need my help. I heard that there was a man here in Piety who had built a shelter for the refugees, and I came as quickly as I could. I hope that I can do some good.

Powers[]
The Healer is an exceptionally gifted physician with an uncanny ability to knit wounds and stave off infection. If she is given a Medical or First Aid task, she will heal twice the normal number of hit points possible for ordinary survivors. In addition, all survivors who remain with her for a full working day, in the Fort or in an away mission, will recover hit points 50% faster than they would be able to recover normally. Unlike other standard medical practitioners, The Healer also has a small percentage chance to cure zombie infection.
